1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms have the meanings set out below:
- "algonqisfs," "we," "us," or "our" refers to algonqisfs, operating at 85 Richmond Street West, Suite 1100, Toronto, ON M5H 2C9.
- "Service" refers to the educational programmes, workshops, facilitated sessions, and website offered by algonqisfs.
- "User" or "you" refers to any individual who accesses the website or registers for a programme.
- "Participant" refers to any individual who attends or is registered for an algonqisfs programme.
- "Agreement" refers to these Terms and Conditions together with our Privacy Policy.
- "Content" refers to all materials, worksheets, resources, and information provided through our programmes and website.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website or registering for any algonqisfs programme, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
You must be at least 18 years of age to register for any programme or use our services. By registering, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement under the laws of the Province of Ontario.
3. Service Description
algonqisfs provides facilitated financial education programmes for adults, including:
- Financial Conversations for Couples — a 3-session private facilitated programme (CAD $245)
- Tax Season Preparation Workshop — a 2-session group workshop offered annually in late winter (CAD $185)
- Financial Resilience Through Midlife — an 8-week group programme with private follow-up (CAD $895)
Important: All programmes are educational in nature. algonqisfs does not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or services regulated under the Ontario Securities Act or by the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC). Programme content is for educational purposes only and should not be relied upon as a substitute for qualified professional financial, legal, or tax advice.
Programme availability, format, and scheduling are subject to change. Confirmed details are provided at the time of registration.
4. Registration
To register for a programme, you will provide your name, email address, and payment information. You are responsible for ensuring that the information provided is accurate and current.
algonqisfs reserves the right to decline a registration where a programme is fully subscribed, where a programme is not a suitable match for a prospective participant's situation, or for any other reason at our reasonable discretion. In such cases, any payment received will be refunded in full.
5. User Responsibilities
As a user of our website and participant in our programmes, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information at all times
- Treat fellow programme participants and facilitators with respect
- Not record, reproduce, or distribute programme sessions or materials without prior written consent
- Not use programme materials for commercial purposes
- Not share login credentials, session links, or access details with individuals who have not registered
- Engage with programme content in good faith and for personal educational purposes
algonqisfs reserves the right to remove a participant from a programme, without refund, where conduct is disruptive, disrespectful, or in violation of these Terms.
6. Intellectual Property
All programme materials, worksheets, handouts, website content, and other resources created and provided by algonqisfs remain the intellectual property of algonqisfs.
Registered participants are granted a limited, personal, non-commercial licence to use programme materials for their own educational purposes. This licence does not permit redistribution, reproduction for others, or commercial use of any kind.

7. Payment Terms
Programme fees are stated in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are payable at the time of registration unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Accepted payment methods are confirmed during the registration process. algonqisfs does not store credit card information — payments are processed by a third-party payment provider.
Cancellation and Refunds:
- Cancellations made at least 7 full business days before the first session: full refund.
- Cancellations within 7 business days of the first session: no refund; however, a credit toward a future programme may be offered at our discretion.
- If algonqisfs cancels or postpones a programme, participants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to a future session.

8. Service-Specific Terms — Educational Programmes
The following terms apply specifically to algonqisfs educational programmes:
- Programme materials are provided for personal use only and may not be shared outside the registered cohort.
- algonqisfs does not issue professional qualifications, accreditations, or certificates of completion for its programmes.
- Virtual sessions are conducted via a designated secure platform. Participants are responsible for their own technology requirements (device, internet connection, microphone).
- Session recordings are not made or distributed by algonqisfs. Participants may not record sessions.
- Group programme size limits are set as stated in programme descriptions and may not be exceeded.
9. Disclaimers
algonqisfs programmes and website content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no representation that programme content will be applicable to every participant's specific financial circumstances.
Nothing in our programmes constitutes financial advice, tax advice, legal advice, or any other form of regulated professional advice. Participants are encouraged to consult qualified professionals for advice specific to their individual situation.
algonqisfs does not make any representation or promise regarding specific financial outcomes, improvements to financial position, or changes in participant circumstances as a result of programme participation.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, algonqisfs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your participation in our programmes or use of our website.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific programme giving rise to the claim.
This limitation does not apply to liability arising from fraud, gross negligence, or wilful misconduct.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless algonqisfs, its facilitators, and staff from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your use of programme materials in violation of this Agreement, or your conduct during programme sessions.
12. Termination
algonqisfs may, at its discretion, withdraw website access or programme participation where a user or participant breaches these Terms. In such cases, refunds will be determined based on the nature of the breach and the applicable cancellation terms in Section 7.
Sections 6, 9, 10, 11, and 13 of these Terms survive any termination of this Agreement.
13. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
In the event of a dispute, the parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith discussion. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, it shall be submitted to the courts of the Province of Ontario, to whose jurisdiction both parties irrevocably submit.
For minor disputes involving programme fees or materials, algonqisfs will engage in good faith discussion before pursuing any formal process.
14. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and algonqisfs regarding the use of our services.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
- Waiver: Failure by algonqisfs to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent.
- Notices: Notices under these Terms may be sent by email and are deemed received on the day sent.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered participants or through a notice on our website. Continued use of our services following notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
The date at the top of this document reflects when the current version took effect.
